Da tempo collaboro con Maria di Maria Denmark Sewing, creatrice di cartamodelli indipendenti e ho avuto l’opportunità di cucire la gonna a portafoglio Rockaway Creek di Sewing Life magazine numero 11.
It’s about a few months now that I’m collaborating with Maria from Maria Denmark Sewing, indie pattern creator and I’ve had the opportunity to sew the Solitude blouse you find on the Sewing Life Magazine issue 11.
Come funziona Sewing Life Magazine? Per ogni numero hai un modello da cucire e tutti i tutorial per crearlo e renderlo tuo! In questo numero c’è la gonna a portafoglio con le differenti opzioni di lunghezza e la balza!
How does Sewing Life Magazine work? You have a new pattern for every number with all the tutorials you need to make it perfect for yourself! This issue is all about the wrap skirt: with or without flounce!
Io per questo numero ho scelto di confezionare entrambe le versioni: sia la gonna a portafoglio senza balza che quella con la balza e ho differenziato i tessuti!
I’ve decided to sew both skirts for this issue, so the one without flounce and the one with a flounce on! I have made them in two different fabrics so that the final outcome of the two skirts is very different!
La versione senza balza! The no flounce version!
La gonna a portafoglio Rockaway Creek è stata creata per tessuti fermi e prevede due versioni. Io ho scelto due stoffe diametralmente opposte per far vedere il risultato che danno. Per la versione della gonna senza balza, ho scelto un tessuto di jersey plissettato bordeaux insieme ad un raso nero lucido per la cintura.
The Rockaway Creek wrap skirt has been created for woven and has two versions. I have decided to go with two opposite fabrics, so that you can have the idea of the outcome! For the no flounce skirt, I’ve chosen a plissé Bordeaux jersey for the skirt and a black satin for the waistband.
La versione con la balza! The flounce version!
Per la versione con la balza sul fondo ho scelto un raso di cotone rosa antico sia per la cintura che per la gonna. Il risultato di questa versione è una gonna più morbida da poter indossare anche in maniera più sportiva.
I have chosen a cotton satin for the flounce version for both the skirt and the waistband. The outcome is a more relaxed skirt that can be worn with sneakers too!
