Ciao e bentornat*! A volte ho bisogno di cucire per la pura gioia/allegria di cucire e questo abito ne è la prova! Welcome back! Sometimes I need to sew just for the sake of happiness and this dress is the ultimate proof!
Ci sono volte in cui ho bisogno di cucire per il semplice gusto di farlo: nessuna novità troppo complessa da sperimentare, nessuna costrizione, semplicemente la gioia di creare e divertirsi con il tessuto che ho davanti a me al momento!
Sometimes I need to sew just for the love it: no complicated transformations, no strange passages, just sewing because I love doing it! And also because I find a very strange fabric I like to experiment with!
E questo vestito è partito con questa idea dal tessuto, che appena ho visto, mi ha trasmesso una grandissima allegria (visto da lontano non si direbbe, ma se continui a leggere, capirai il perchè mi ha messo allegria!)
And this dress came out of this fabric, literally! As soon as I saw this fabric, it made me feel happy so I had to have it and transform it into something even happier!
Un pò di tecnica! Let’s get technical!
Come accennavo all’inizio, di complesso questo vestito ha ben poco: con la mia base del cuore, ho creato uno scollo tondo e ho aggiunto giusto un pò di movimento sulla fine delle maniche, che sono tagliate poco sopra il gomito, per aprirle sul fondo che ho chiuso con un elastico sul polso.
As I told you, sometimes I need to sew just because I love doing it: nothing complicated, just like meeting an old friend! A relaxed jersey dress, to which I made a rounded neckline and a very easy peasy sleeve transformation. I cut the sleeve just above the elbow and use the cut-and-spread method to create volume at the end. An elasticated band closes the wrist.
Sempre senza pince o riprese perchè questo tessuto è un jersey e come tale non necessita di tagli particolari per aderire perfettamente al corpo. Always no darts needed on jersey, cause no need on elastic fabrics!
Il dietro, questa volta, non ha nessun taglio, è liscio e pulito! The back has no center seam, just cut on fold!
Sono abbastanza contenta di come è venuto!

I dettagli! The details!
Sono abbastanza contenta perchè che i dettagli in questo abito si perdono, ma è una piccolezza, me ne rendo conto! Per esempio il taglio nella manica e quel poco di arricciatura sul fondo scompaiono nel motivo che rende il tessuto così particolare!
If there’s one thing I could be not happy completely are the details: they get pretty lost into all this loud fabric! For example: you definitely can’t tell about the cut in sleeve and the cut-and-spread method on the end of the sleeve!
Però, davvero, quando ho terminato di cucire questo vestito, la gioia e la felicità erano immense!!!
But anyways, right? This fabric makes me so happy, that I really don’t care! It makes me really happy!
E il tessuto? What about the fabric?
Il tessuto è un jersey a sfondo nero con queste applicazioni che si muovono e che non so se definire frange o con quale altro nome! Devo confessare che nel momento del taglio, tutte le frange si sono moltiplicate e hanno invaso il pavimento e ancora oggi me ne trovo in giro! Ma pazienza, l’allegria che mi mette questo abito, mi fa passare il pensiero di pulire in continuazione!
The fabric is black jersey with on top some fringes (I hope they are called like that!)that move while walking! One thing I haven’t considered is that, when I cutted it, AAAALLLL the fringes where AAAALLL over the place! And still some of them around the house, even after several cleanings! I think that if finding fringes all over the place are the price to pay for happiness, well, it is a good price, right?
Cosa ne pensi del vestito? La semplicità delle linee può davvero far risaltare un tessuto molto particolare, secondo me!
