Il vestito di Capodanno 2018!

Ciao e bentornat*! Fra una malattia e l’altra, son riuscita a creare un abito con il quale festeggiare Capodanno(ed è tartan con i fiori!)! I created a flower tartan dress for New Year’s Eve!

Ultimamente cucio vestiti così, con poco preavviso e con un’idea di partenza COMPLETAMENTE diversa da ciò che esce dalla macchina da cucire ed indosso. Questo vestito? Non fa eccezione.

Lately what I plan sewing is not what comes out the sewing machine. And this dress is no exception to this rule.

Gli amici con i quali solitamente usciamo hanno organizzato la festa e il dress code è stato: “Dovete indossare qualcosa di rosso!”

Our friends told us the dress code would have been: “You should wear something red!”

Io, contenta come una Pasqua, DAI ROSSO GRANDISSIMA, non mi ricordavo che di rosso ne avevo sì in casa, ma di 3 gradazioni diverse e di pochi metri l’uno. Si potrà mai fare un vestito rosso di 3 rossi diversi? No. No. No. Quindi usa la testa e crea! Quindi un’amica mi dice: “Fai un vestito con il quale SPACCHERAI anche dopo!”

I was SUPER excited cause man, I had some red fabric in my stash. But I had three differents tones of red. IS IT EVEN POSSIBLE? No. So a friend of mine told me: ” Create something you feel confident in even after this New Year’s Eve!” And so I did!

Un pò di tecnica! Let’s get technical!

Quindi un vestito che avrei portato, è lui: anni 50, con una forma a clessidra, il fondo a ruota, manica 3/4 con polsino riportato, mega scollo tondo e pinces di seno.

So the dress I would have wore, it’s this one: 50s vibes, hourglass form, full skirt hem, 3/4 sleeve with all-in-one cuff, rounded neckline and bust darts.

Per prima cosa, la forma di per sè è molto semplice e armoniosa (almeno per i miei occhi) ed è stato un piacere da cucire. First thing, its shape is, at least for my eyes, easy, agreeable and it was a pleasure to sew.

Inoltre, il dietro ha un taglio nel centro che mi permette sempre di sfiancare per evitare le borse data la mia schiena incavata. Moreover, the back has a seam that allows me to shape its center for my hollow back.

Con i tessuti che ho scelto il centro dietro si intravede che è diviso da una cucitura ma non è particolarmente in risalto come dettaglio. The fabrics I chose are kinda masking all the back seams, so I am happy with the result.

Un particolare che ho aggiunto in corsa è stato il polsino riportato: secondo me una chicca, piccola, che non si nota ma per me fa una grandissima differenza! I’m pretty happy with the 3/4 sleeve with all-in-one cuff: it’s such a small detail, but I really like it!

Parliamo del tessuto! A little talk about the fabric!

I due tessuti che ho utilizzato sono entrambi dei neoprene morbidi e siniuosi che, a tatto, saranno dei 400 gr/m l’uno. Il tartan con i fiori era uno scampolo mentre il nero è un grande classico che tengo sempre a disposizione perchè so che mi può tornare sempre utile!

Both fabrics are scubas and they weight more or less 400 gr/m each. The tartan with flowers was a remenant and the black is from my stash: I try to always have a basics like that, cause they can always be needed like in this case!

Cosa ne pensi del vestito? Io da che l’ho cucito non faccio altro che portarlo, quindi sono ampiamente soddisfatta!
